The plot:

Boogie Woogie is a deliciously lurid comedy of manners, its colourful cast of characters devouring each other in a small world awash with big money. Set against the backdrop of contemporary London and the international art scene, it casts a satirical eye at the voracious appetites and questionable morality of some of its prime exponents. Dealers, collectors, artists, wannabees vie with each other in a vicious world in which success and downfall rest on a knife edge.

Some infos about the characters:

Elaine Yoon, a tattooed, pierced, Chinese-Californian lesbian who obsessively seduces straight women, films video shorts of her sexual conquests to compile into “a really cool piece.”

Jo Richards, an intellectually challenged installation artist grappling with the idea of peripheral vision, knows of what is supposedly Mondrian’s last painting in his abstract Boogie-Woogie series, which the owners might be persuaded to part with for very little.

Art Spindle, a cravat-wearing, reptilian art dealer, desperately wants to sell the Mondrian, when he isn’t lusting after his staff, or sleeping with Jean Maclestone

Jean Maclestone, collector and art-hag, the vain wife of stuttering ber-collector Bob Maclestone

Freign, the exceedingly proper manservant, through whose interior monologue we hear about his exploits as both a lover and a killer, attends to Mr. Rhinegold

Mr. Rhinegold, the bitter, housebound, elderly owner of the Mondrian

Dewey Bozo, a ridiculously camp wannabe curator with a taste for SM wants Spindle to do his next show, but instead settles for Beth Freemantle

Beth Freemantle, a ditzy former employee of Art Spindle, who after an inheritance, has some plastic surgery and opens her own gallery.

X FILES co-stars GILLIAN ANDERSON and DAVID DUCHOVNY are reportedly locked in a battle with the producers of their new movie over an explicit love scene.

The duo – who play FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the hit TV show – are pleading with bosses to axe a bedroom scene involving the pair from the new X Files movie.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, “There was one draft of the script where Mulder and Scully have a bedroom scene but it looks like that has been put on hold.

“David and Gillian are concerned about having the characters involved in some kind of love story, as they feel that was the beginning of the end of the original show. “Negotiations are on-going.”

After years of David Duchovny talking about the sequel, and almost 10 years after the first feature, 20th Century is finally ready to start production on The X-Files 2 with the actor in place to reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully.

Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10 in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script.

The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as “Done One.” The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

It is activists like him who inspire us to shake off the blues and take action to fix our world. That’s the spirit of Shaking the Blues, which promises to be one of ANSA’s best events ever.”

Proceeds from the event will support ANSA’s work in the US and Africa. ANSA will also donate a portion of the proceeds to the Treatment Action Campaign, the grassroots organization that is at the forefront of South Africa’s fight against AIDS.

ANSA is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization working in the US and South Africa to combat HIV/AIDS, safeguard voting rights and democracy, advance human rights and equality, and assist and empower AIDS orphans and other at-risk youth. By working in partnership with effective grassroots organizations and pivotal movements on the frontlines of these issues, ANSA makes a substantial difference. Founded in 1989 to support South Africa’s quest to end apartheid and build a new democracy, ANSA is now dedicated to eradicating social and health inequities that are the legacies of apartheid, segregation, and generations of poverty. In the past decade alone, ANSA has raised $9 million for effective African programs, shipped 70 tons of medical supplies and books to impoverished communities, and educated millions of adults and young people in the US, South Africa, and across the African continent about HIV/AIDS and voting rights. David Duchovny decided to ignore warnings to evacuate his home in Malibu over fires spreading throughout the area.

Hollywood stars such as Titanic director James Cameron and singer Olivia Newton-John agreed to leave their houses after firefighters warned them of the dangers.

But the former X Files actor and his family refused to go anywhere, despite the fire destroying a castle that was once owned by Bob Dylan, a church and five homes in the area, as well as causing one death.

A spokesperson for the fire service in LA said: “He’s safe for now”.
