X-Files star David Duchovny has sued a British newspaper over a story alleging he cheated on his wife, Tea Leoni, with a tennis player.

The lawsuit against the Daily Mail, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges defamation and invasion of privacy. Duchovny is seeking $1 million (£586,000) in damages.

Duchovny, 48, plays a womanising novelist on the television series Californication and in recent weeks he has been treated for sex addiction at a rehabilitation centre.

He and Leoni have been married for 11 years and have two children, but separated several months ago.

In his lawsuit, Duchovny accused the paper of posting a story online that claimed he cheated on Leoni with a tennis instructor named Edit Pakay.

“This is false. It never happened,” the lawsuit stated.

Duchovny is set to star in a film called The Joneses, scheduled for release next year.

Gillian Anderson and her boyfriend Mark Griffiths have welcomed their second child together, her rep said Monday.

Son Felix Griffiths was born October 15 in London. He weighed in at 6 lbs., 15 0z.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe star, 40, and Griffiths are already parents to 1-year-old son Oscar. She also has a daughter, Piper, 13, from a prior marriage.

Anderson confirmed in June that she was expecting.

“The only thing I do when I’m pregnant is eat and sit on my butt!” she said. “I’m not really craving anything, but there’s the lazy part of me that thinks, ‘What’s the point in working out until I have the baby?’ Then we’ll actually do something!”

I have added another photoshoot. It is of David.

Gillian was at the How To Lose Friends And Alienate People UK Premiere! I added pictures to the gallery.

As we all know, David was in the film Chaplin, so thanks to Sharon at special ops media for this!
